Mr. Panayiotis Hadjimavris, Assistant Lecturer at American College, visited the University of Western Macedonia during the week of May 11–15, 2026, through the Erasmus+ programme.
During his visit, Mr. Hadjimavris delivered a presentation to students on the use of computerisation and artificial intelligence in accounting. The session focused on how modern technological tools are changing the accounting profession, improving efficiency, supporting data analysis, and shaping the future role of accounting professionals.
Following the presentation, a discussion was held with students of the department, giving them the opportunity to ask questions, exchange views, and reflect on the practical impact of technology and artificial intelligence in their field of study.
In addition, there was a discussion regarding the academic and professional benefits that students can gain through their participation in the Erasmus+ programme. Emphasis was placed on the value of international mobility, intercultural experience, academic cooperation, and the development of skills that can strengthen students’ future career prospects.
During his stay at the University of Western Macedonia, Mr. Hadjimavris also attended, as a visiting lecturer, the graduation ceremony of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the School of Economic Sciences.
This Erasmus+ visit reflects the commitment of American College to international collaboration, academic exchange, and the continuous development of its academic staff. Through such initiatives, the College strengthens its links with European higher education institutions and supports the exchange of knowledge, experience, and good practices.
