General Information

The Erasmus+ program was established by the European Commission. The program invests in the education and training of people of all ages and backgrounds.

It offers the opportunity to students to study abroad in another country for a period of at least 2 months and a maximum of 12 months per cycle of studies (first cycle: bachelor degree, second cycle: master degree and third cycle: doctoral degree).

In addition, Erasmus+ provides the opportunity to faculty and staff, to teach or train abroad. A grant is provided to Erasmus+ participants who travel abroad.

By participating in Erasmus+ program abroad students (mainly) and faculty and staff (to a lesser extent) can:

  • Develop personally, professionally and academically,
  • Gain new skills and knowledge and increase their employability,
  • Enhance self-confidence,
  • Improve and gain language skills,
  • Develop cultural awareness and open-mindedness, and
  • Broaden own horizons (physically and mentally).

American College participates in the program and is a holder of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021-2027.

American College’s policy in relation to Erasmus is described in its Erasmus Policy Statement.
