Students who successfully complete this program of study earn a Diploma in Office Management. The program, through its demanding schedule, is designed to prepare students become executive secretaries and personal assistants. It prepares students to develop advanced practical skills in English and Greek text production as well as exceptional skills in office procedures and popular computer applications.
Career Prospects and Access to Further Studies
All organizations without exception need properly trained secretaries / personal assistants. Therefore, there is a very high demand for secretaries / personal assistants. Graduates of this program have the opportunity to work in the following organizations and professions and/or continue their studies in a Bachelor’s degree program in the field of Business Administration, etc.:
- Service, trade or industry companies,
- Banks and
- Public and semi-public organizations.
Professional Certifications
The course syllabuses of the program are designed to prepare the students of the Office Management Diploma to take external examinations and obtain, alongside their studies, the following professional certifications:
- Ministry of Education – Greek Typing from Junior to Senior Level,
- Ministry of Education – Intermediate English Typing,
- Ministry of Education – Greek Shorthand, and
- European Computer Driving License (ECDL).
Accreditation
This program of study is accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA). CYQAA is the competent authority of the Republic of Cyprus responsible for ensuring the quality of higher education in Cyprus and for the support of the processes provided by the relevant Legislation, for the continuous improvement and upgrading of higher education institutions and their programs of study.
The qualification awarded is recognized by the Cyprus Council of Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (KYSATS). KYSATS is the competent authority of the Republic of Cyprus for the recognition of higher education qualifications.
Purpose and Objectives
The program’s purpose and objectives are:
- To equip students with advanced level typing skills.
- To provide students with the knowledge, understanding and application of the concepts, competence and responsibilities associated with office organization, procedures and administration.
- To equip students with practical experience in using many computer applications.
- To provide students with good business awareness, decision-making and time management skills so as to enable them to hold responsible office administration positions.
- To help students develop accuracy, flexibility, commitment and initiative.
Intended learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program of study, its graduates will:
- Compose, prepare and typewrite advanced professional business documents and business communication texts, in Greek and in English Language.
- Acquire high proficiency in English Language, Office Administration and English Text Production.
- Organize a modern office using practical skills necessary for efficient management.
- Use various software applications to effectively and efficiently complete office management tasks.
- Apply the business ethics, decision making and time management skills acquired in office administration positions.
- Develop the individual characteristics, the decision making skills, the time management skills and the appropriate behavior required for a successful and a professional career.
- Demonstrate skills of accuracy, flexibility, commitment and initiative.

If you are a Cypriot citizen or a citizen of a member state of the European Union, you have lived with your family in Cyprus for the last 5 years and have an annual gross family income of up to €59,000, you may be eligible to receive the Cyprus Government Student Sponsorship of up to €3.420 / year. Of course, for courses that you have successfully completed you can be exempted from corresponding or related courses. Based on the regulations of the Cyprus Council of Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications, you can transfer credits of up to 50% of the total credits of your program of study you will be studying. This means that for bachelor’s degree that bears 240 ECTS you may transfer up to 120 ECTS.
Yes. After you successfully complete this accredited program of study, you can transfer the courses you have successfully completed and continue to a related Bachelor’s degree program of study.
Attending this program does not require knowledge of the subjects of study. Teaching commences with the basics and progresses to the most advanced.
