On 13 November 2018 our Culinary Arts students attended, two four-hour workshops organized by AC on “Mediterranean Modern Cuisine”. The chef instructor of this seminar was Timoleon Diamantis, a talented chef renowned for his 1st place in the Greek MasterChef competition.
The foundation of Mediterranean cuisine is fish, vegetables, legumes, fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs, and spices and it is considered the healthiest diet in the world.
The workshops were part of the “Cyprus Cuisine” course, which covers Cyprus and Mediterranean cuisine and introduces the students to the specific food culture and history. In addition, the students learn through theory, demonstration, practice, food preparation and techniques of this cuisine. Each year, American College invites successful professionals, so they pass their knowledge, market trends, and experience to AC students. We strongly believe that guest speakers, such as Timoleon Diamantis, can inspire young people about possible opportunities, and broaden their horizons to see the world outside of their classes.
