Office Management - Diploma

Diploma| 2 years of study | 120 ECTS

Students who successfully complete this program of study earn a Diploma in Office Management. The program, through its demanding schedule, is designed to prepare students become executive secretaries and personal assistants. It prepares students to develop advanced practical skills in English and Greek text production as well as exceptional skills in office procedures and popular computer applications.

The program prepares students for professional external examinations (e.g. London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examining Board English text production examinations, Cyprus Ministry of Education Greek text production examinations and ICDL (International Computer Driving License) word processing, spreadsheet and other computer examinations).

The program’s purpose and objectives are:

1. To equip students with advanced level typing skills.
   
    
2. To provide students with the knowledge, understanding and application of the concepts, competence and responsibilities associated with office organization, procedures and administration.
   
    
3. To equip students with practical experience in using many computer applications.
   
    
4. To provide students with good business awareness, decision-making and time management skills so as to enable them to hold responsible office administration positions.
   
    
5. To help students develop accuracy, flexibility, commitment and initiative.

Upon successful completion of this program of study, its graduates will:

1. Compose, prepare and typewrite advanced professional business documents and business communication texts, in Greek and in English Language.
   
    
2. Acquire high proficiency in English Language, Office Administration and English Text Production.  
   
    
3. Organize a modern office using practical skills necessary for efficient management.
   
    
4. Use various software applications to effectively and efficiently complete office management tasks.
   
    
5. Apply the business ethics, decision making and time management skills acquired in office administration positions.
   
    
6. Develop the individual characteristics, the decision making skills, the time management skills and the appropriate behavior required for a successful and a professional career.
   
    
7. Demonstrate skills of accuracy, flexibility, commitment and initiative.

The syllabus curriculum is designed to prepare students to take external exams in typing, accounting, and computing. Therefore, in addition to studying at the American College, students of the Office Management Diploma can obtain the following professional certifications:

• Examinations of the Ministry of Education of Greek Typing,
   
• Pearson LCCI in Text Production,
   
• European Computer Driving License (ECDL).
